Started Pullets (Pre-order deposit)
Whether you are raising chickens for the first time or wanting to expand your flock, started pullets (female chickens pre laying) are a great way to jump start the process without having to raise chicks for months. Raising chicks requires constant care, heating elements, specialty feed, brooder space, and time!
Breeds available:
Americana- The Americana chicken, also known as the "Easter Egger," is a charming, hardy breed celebrated for its vibrant blue and green eggs. With a mixed heritage that includes Araucana lineage, these birds have a friendly, curious nature and a unique appearance, often featuring muffs, beards, and feather patterns in earthy tones. They're excellent foragers. Lays an average of 150 eggs per year.
Rhode Island Blues- A hybrid crossing two of the best layers - the Rhode Island Red and the Australorp. This cross results in combination blue, red and black chickens. Rhode Island Blues are a medium, production bird - an excellent layer of large brown eggs. If you're looking for a multi-colored chicken that will out-lay most - this is your breed.
The pullets will be ready for pick up at our farm in Pryor, OK at the end of February. They will be about 3-3.5 months old and will begin laying at the beginning of Spring.
Pullets are $22 each.
Chickens will begin laying eggs between 5-6 months of age. It is best to have them in their new coop by 3-4 months old so they will be ready to lay shortly after.
We raise each bird from a day old chick right on Graham Acres. Caring for the chickens daily, ensuring that you will receive a healthy chicken.
Fed a locally sourced blend of quality starter feed.
We do not debeak our pullets so they will be able to free range naturally. All chickens are non vaccinated with no use of antibiotics.
