Homemade Chicken Nuggets

Recipe ideas from our farm to your table

You know those McDonald’s nuggets are not great so let’s make our own. Super easy and kid approved. ⠀

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground chicken

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

  • 1 egg

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 cup additional breadcrumbs (for coating)

  • Olive oil or cooking spray (for baking)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C)

  2. Mix the Ingredients:

In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese (if using), egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is well combined.

  3. Shape the Nuggets:

Scoop out small portions of the chicken mixture and shape them into nugget-sized pieces. You can make them round or slightly flattened, depending on your preference.

  4. Coat the Nuggets:

Place the remaining 1 cup of breadcrumbs in a shallow dish. Roll each nugget in the breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure they stick.

  5. Cook the Nuggets:

Place the coated nuggets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Lightly spray or brush the nuggets with olive oil or cooking spray. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the nuggets are golden brown and cooked through.
